Terrorists could use railcars as vehicles of destruction

Anthony Kimery's article ["A State of High Alert," Nov. 26] was most sobering. Unlike our leaders in Washington, he did not dance around the truth.
However, one thing continues to trouble me. He did not address the threat posed from the thousands of highly pressurized rail tanker cars that freely enter the United States on a daily basis from Mexico with little or no oversight from the U.S. Customs office.
In light of the fact that these railcars are designed to carry hazardous, explosive materials, it is important to know what actions our government is taking to ensure that U.S. agents on our southern border will not allow them to be the delivery vehicles for a radiological attack.
