Babbitt Blasts Another One

Seems there's just no stopping archdruid Secretary of the Interior Bruce Babbitt as he continues his rampage against the nation's infrastructure, tearing down water impoundments that have served generations as the favored ol' swimming hole, fishing spot or picnic ground. Most recently he called out the U.S. Marines to help blow Rains Dam on the Neuse River in North Carolina.

Sounding like the Aleister Crowley of environmental occultism, Babbitt pronounced: "Through the violence of destruction, we undertake the healing act of creation." Those who had hoped this might be just some aberrant phase will not be pleased at the secretary's concluding threat that he and fellow dam-busters "have only begun."
