What a friend we have in openly gay Vallejo, Calif., mayoral candidate Gary Cloutier! First, while they were still counting the votes (I believe he won with a four-vote majority), he embarrassed his constituents by exiting a gay bar in Palm Springs completely drunk and trying to drive off. Now, in your December 4 Rants & Raves column, you quote him as saying that the Folsom Street Fair is disgusting. People like him give the bridge-and-tunnel crowd another reason to trash San Francisco--and now they have even more ammunition given the fact that it comes from a gay person (a mayor, no less!). Another vote-pandering politician who will do and say anything to get elected.
