Scott Jordan, 21, a swimmer at Saint Bonaventure University in upstate New York, in a first-person essay posted January 6 on Outsports.com. Now in his senior year and hoping to qualify for the Olympics, Jordan said the Catholic school's conservative atmosphere had made him consider transferring in the past, but his teammates and coaches have been accepting of his sexual orientation.
