Flex your muscle

Advocate, The,  August 16, 2005  by Daniel Well

Lesbian and gay drivers, get set: Ford has recaptured the spirit of the muscled Mustangs of the '60s. The hunky 2005 Mustang GT ripples with 50% more power than the classic 1964. Its bulging hood, firm stance (thanks to six more inches in wheelbase from last year), and aggressive grille say "don't mess with me" and "come hither" all at once. A 4.6-liter aluminum V-8 pumps 300 horsepower--40 more than the 2004-and delivers the sound of the classic Detroit V-8 as well: We held the door open every time we started up just to hear the engine bark to life and rumble at idle ... woof! Yet the all-new chassis delivers a stable, comfortable ride even at freeway speed. The sexy GT is available in two trim types for both the coupe and the convertible: The retro red-and-black leather bucket seats on the GT Premium will bring out your inner heartbreaker. Finally, Ford claims an industry first in the Mustang's color-configurable dash, boasting 125 possible color backgrounds--all hot.
