The real facts about condoms
Advocate, The, Feb 15, 2005 by Dan Allen
At a time when the federal government is being accused of distributing misinformation about the efficacy of condoms, gay consumers can still get the facts from the media. In the February issue of Consumer Reports magazine, 23 brands and varieties of latex condoms were surveyed: "To the best of our knowledge, Consumer Reports has the only testing program for condoms whose results are made known to the public," said senior editor Nancy Metcalf.
There's little correlation between performance and price or thickness, the study found. "The gay community will find our test report useful," added Metcalf.
