Lifting us up

Thanks for featuring openly gay power lifter Chris Morgan ["Weight of the World," November 23]. Fed up with British insurance companies discriminating against gay men by raising premiums and issuing lifestyle questionnaires, Chris put evidence together to prove they were discriminating and went to tell them off, face-to-face. He wanted them to mend their ways.

He won the match.

The outlawing of discrimination in the provision of goods and services to gay men and lesbians is next on the way in Britain, at long last, and some of the credit for that must go to Chris.
