Lambda at risk
Advocate, The, July 19, 2005
The Lambda Literary Foundation is in trouble. Less than a week after the group's 17th annum awards banquet June 2 in New York City, executive director Jim Marks quit, and publication was suspended on both of the foundation's magazines, The James White Review and Lambda Book Report. A press release cited the "precarious financial state" of the foundation.
"We deeply regret this outcome," members of the LLF board said, pledging to rebuild. (To view the 2005 Lambda winners, click on LINKS at Advocate.com.)
