Elton takes a groom
Advocate, The, June 7, 2005
HIS CRITICALLY lauded album Peachtree Road may have withered on the sales-chart vine, but it's shaping up into a big year for Elton John nonetheless. His Vegas show, The Red Piano, is a regular sellout; a July 4 concert to raise money for the Elton John AIDS Foundation, among other organizations, is turning into the biggest all-star show of the summer; and Elton may walk down the aisle with longtime partner David Furnish after the United Kingdom's new domestic-partnership law goes into effect in December.
(The nuptials could be postponed until 2006, John's spokesman said after the initial April announcement.) It's a toss-up as to whether The Buzz is more anxious to see what he'll wear or to hear what he'll say at the reception.
