Apparently gay doesn't play in Peoria. In nearby Marquette Heights, Ill., residents who live on Gay Road, named after 1600s explorer Picard du Gay, successfully petitioned to rename their street Hennepin Road in late January. They convinced the city council to make the change after complaining of being harassed and teased due to the word gay in their address.
