Lesbian teens admit to murder
Advocate, The, May 24, 2005
Those familiar with the case of lesbian teens Holly Harvey and Sandy Ketchum, who were sentenced to life in prison on April 14 for murdering Harvey's grandparents, thought they had heard it all when police reported a "to do" list written on Harvey's arm at the time of her arrest. It read, KILL, KEYS, MONEY, JEWELRY.
That was until Harvey, 15, recounted the gruesome details of the crime shortly after she and Ketchum, 16, pleaded guilty in Fayette County, Ga. When superior court judge Pascal English asked Harvey why she stabbed her grandparents last August, she tearfully responded, "For Sandy. So that we could be together."
Harvey's grandparents had forbidden her from seeing Ketchum, so the two girls decided to kill the elderly couple before stealing their truck. "I got the biggest knife I could find out of the kitchen," Harvey said, adding that they practiced stabbing a mattress to make sure it was sharp. When her grandparents came to her room, Harvey attacked and killed them both.
