STANLEY DeSANTIS, 52,an openly gay actor and T-shirt company owner, of a heart attack in Los Angeles, August 9. DeSantis was best known for his critically acclaimed portrayal of Norman Neal Williams in the TV miniseries of Armistead Maupin's Tales of the City.

JEFFREY C. GREGO, 51, a gay father whose lawsuit led to the landmark 2002 decision allowing second-parent adoptions by gay and lesbian partners in Pennsylvania, in a small-plane crash, August 26. Grego is survived by his partner, Joey, and their two children.
