I was grateful for your GenQ article on Queers on Wheels I "On Wheels Together," March 28]. I had the pleasure of meeting Eva Sweeney last year and found her to be an extraordinary young woman of great insight, courage, and good humor.
However, I felt your coverage merely glossed over the larger issue of the many hardships faced by disabled gays and lesbians. In an age when most gay-themed publications juggle the usual headlines of politics, entertainment, and youth culture, this very special group has remained virtually ignored--by the queer community as well as the public at large. There's a wealth of untapped stories to be found here, and they warrant far more than the few paragraphs you gave it.
