Jag be nimble
Advocate, The, April 25, 2006 by Daniel Weil
Spice Girls aside, if you like things both sporty and posh, you'll be well pleased with Jaguar's 2006 X-Type Sportwagon. Rising gas prices are reminding us that sporty wagons are a sensible way to gain some extra space without the size and bulk of SUVs. Jaguars edition proves that "sensible" can also be elegant and fun. The 227-horsepower V-6 engine, five-speed automatic transmission, "Traction 4" all-wheel drive, and dynamic stability control perform with panache. The five-speed transmission is very smooth, even when you're in a mad rush: The sporty factor on this sportwagon is considerable.
Meanwhile, the cabin is definitely posh. Comforts include automatic climate controls with air filtration, leather seats, one-touch moonroof, bronze Sapele wood trim, and much more. Bluetooth connectivity and a GPS navigation system are options. And, of course, the rear cargo area enlarges, courtesy of a split-fold rear seat. Smashing!
