Indefensible

Advocate, The,  March 27, 2007  by Arthur Bellinzoni

Log Cabin Republicans president Patrick Sammon's interview [Person to Know, February 27] rang hollow because there is little positive that Republicans can say about their party's progress in the area of gay rights. Although gay rights cannot and should not trump every other political issue, even for gays and lesbians, the Republican Party has the distinction of having current leadership that has worked overtime to demonize gays and lesbians, a sorry record for any gay man to have to defend. What could Sammon possibly say to gloss over that simple truth?
