Fortuitous meeting

Advocate, The,  June 19, 2007  by Terry Madden

Thank you for the First Person column "In Sickness and in Health" [May 8] by Gary Crawford. Crawford's true story is the tale of two men, both gay and both living with severe mental illness, who find deep and abiding love. Written with simplicity and honesty, it packs an emotional wallop without even trying. Bravo to Crawford for writing about his schizophrenia so openly. (Hint to gay screenwriters: I think this would make an exceptional screenplay.) Mr. Crawford's story ends with "In many ways I am very lucky." We the readers are very lucky to have met him.
