SEWN OATS

Ingredients:

1/2 cup raw oats
1 cup skim milk
1 tbsp wheat germ
1 scoop protein powder
Cinnamon to taste

To make: Mix the ingredients together in a bowl, cover, and place in refrigerator overnight. Enjoy the next morning. Makes 1 serving.

STRIP STEAK STIR-FRY

Ingredients:

1 lb strip steak
1 package premixed stir-fry
  vegetables (available in the
  produce section of most
  grocery stores)
2 tbsp teriyaki stir-fry sauce

To make: Coat nonstick pan with cooking spray and place over medium heat. Place strips of steak in pan and cook until almost done. Add vegetables and stir-fry sauce. Continue cooking until vegetables are tender. Makes 4 cups.

FRENCH TOAST

Ingredients:

3 slices 12-grain bread
1 egg
1/4 cup milk
2 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp each cinnamon and
  nutmeg (about 4 shakes)

To make: Cost nonstick pan with cooking spray and heat at medium-high temp. Combine egg, milk, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg, and stir until combined. Dip bread into mixture, one slice at a time. Place each dipped slice on griddle and cook until browned on the bottom, then flip. Once browned on both sides, the toast is ready to eat.

TURKEY BURGERS

Ingredients:

1 lb ground turkey breast
  (Buy ground turkey breast--regular
  ground turkey is
  much higher in fat.)
1 large onion, diced
1/2 cup Italian breed crumbs
1 whole egg
1 cup barbecue sauce

To make: Put all the ingredients into a large bowl and mix well. Shape the meat into patties and grill. Serve on a whole-wheat bun. Recipe makes 4 meat patties.
