Men's Fitness, Dec, 2008
Too much slumping at your desk can leave you with the rounded shoulders of a 90-year-old. Besides being "not hot," it places tons of excess tension on your spine. But you can open up your shoulders and stretch your back, eliminating that unwanted pain. All you need is a foam roller (get one at optp.com).
How to do it: Lie on your back on the floor with the roller under you, beneath your shoulder blades. Reach up and place your hands behind your head as you would to do situps, and extend your spine so that you feet a stretch in your lats. Flex your spine, moving in and out of the stretch as many times as you like. Do several sets each night after work.
