Sweating to Ja Rule? - Fast track: the active man's guide to damn near everything - Brief Article

Men's Fitness,  Nov, 2002  by Mike Carlson,  Allan Donnelly,  Ben Kallen,  Bobby Lee,  Mark Thorpe,  Tom Weede

Listening to serious beats while exercising may increase your endurance, which translates to a better workout. A recent study found that 12 male college students who pedaled exercise bikes while listening to music went 11 percent farther than when they cycled to no music or to radio static. Also, their perceived levels of exertion were lower than their actual exertion levels. Possible explanation: Music may distract you from the discomfort or boredom of exercise and improve your mood, making you more willing to push on.
