"THE WORLD CAN be a lonely place for two diesel people like you and me. if you've got the balls!" No, it's not a line from When Harry Stanley, its Men's Fitness' failed attempt at online romance.

When we learned of a new Internet dating service that caters specifically to the physically inclined, fitnessdate.com, we sent our best man into the field to try and score with the gym bunnies. First, our editorial assistant, Sean, posed as a big, hardcore bodybuilder. You know the type--tall, tender, and toned. What woman wouldn't fall into his manly arms? Sadly, his profile, which sported such catchy love-prose as "My body is a temple and fitness is my religion. Long walks on the beach? Why not wind sprints?" failed to entice the ladies. So he toned it down some, this time playing the part of a sensitive women's-shelter-working Mexican gym rat. Oh, and he grew one hell of a 'stache. "I'm a teddy bear" he wrote. "I'm 30, in great shape, and just looking for someone to sip a protein shake with." Still no takers.
