Writing about the current Fittest City in America meant an easy commute for this Denver-based writer. All he had to do was hop in his car and drive an hour south to Colorado Springs. His biggest surprise while exploring C.S.? "Despite being superhealthy, Colorado Springs contains the only three Dunkin' Donuts franchises in Colorado--but maybe that's because the people there are so fit, their diets have calories to spare," says Hubler. A former Denver Post staff writer who has also written for The New York Times, The Washington Post, Tokyo Journal, and others, Hubler is no fitness slouch himself. He lifts often and regularly cycles the Cherry Creek Trail near his home.
