Dark cats aren't more allergenic - Brief Article

For peace of mind, you may not want to cross a black cat's path as you walk under a ladder, but your sinuses can rest easy. A study from the Wellington Asthma Research Group in New Zealand found that neither the color of cat fur nor its length has an effect on the amount of allergen the animal produces. The report, published in the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, contradicts earlier findings that dark cats may trigger hay fever and allergy responses more readily than light-colored felines.
