Be a wild man
Men's Fitness, April, 2004
A fish is just a fish--unless it's a salmon. According to an Indiana University study, farmed salmon often contain more toxins and contaminants than their wild brethren. When researchers analyzed tissue samples from both types of fish, they found up to 13 different toxins and carcinogens in the farmed salmon.
The contaminants appear to be ingested by the farmed fish rough their chow (generally a combination of oils and other ground-up fish).
