Take a stand
Mike CarlsonWHILE IT'S TEMPTING to sit between sets and take a breather, don't. Sitting, particularly on a seat without a backrest (such as a weight bench), can temporarily destabilize the spine, increase stiffness in the lower back, and limit range of motion. Instead of parking your carcass, take a quick walk to the water fountain. Not only will this keep you hydrated, it will also keep your blood flowing, which will help clear out lactic acid and prime your body for the next exercise.
