Decode her drink
Jen A. MillerMost girls at a bar travel in packs--which is great if you're just surveying the scenery. But when it comes time to make your move, it can feel like you're about to order takeout: dozens of options on the menu, and no idea which dish is going to taste the best once you get it home. Instead of relying entirely on your gut, take our advice and narrow down your selections first. The best way to do it? Take a look at what your girl of choice is drinking
Imported Beer
WHAT IT MEANS: She's a man's woman--the girl-next-door type who likes her beer and likes it good. She'll plunk down and scream at the TV during a football game, and she'll look hot in your T-shirt while doing so.
FIRST STEP TO BEDDING HER: Step it up a notch and order her a Guinness. See if she's up to the challenge.
Cosmo
WHAT IT MEANS: Foofy drinks for a fussy girl. Expect a high level of maintenance here--hair, nails, makeup, the works. But she'll treat you like a king, and she'll always look good in front of your friends.
FIRST STEP TO BEDDING HER: Order her a glass of sangria. She'll be delighted by the colors and taste. Plus, if it comes with a little umbrella, you can tuck it in her hair to make first contact.
Martini
WHAT IT MEANS: A martini is cold and smooth. Expect the same reaction from this top-shelf-liquor girl. She's probably as good at this game as you are, but that doesn't mean she's not worth the effort. Melting an ice princess is part of the fun.
FIRST STEP TO BEDDING HER: Order her a chocolate 'tini instead. A little extra flavor may help take off those sharp corners.
Tequila
WHAT IT MEANS: She's a show-off, and she wants you to think she's fun. If you like your woman a little wild and adventurous, give her a shot. Literally.
FIRST STEP TO BEDDING HER: Ask the bartender to make her a redheaded slut. Bonus points if she's an actual redhead.
Water or Soda
WHAT IT MEANS, Before midnight: She's too stiff; don't bother. After midnight: She's already liquored up; go for it.
