What women want - Female Persuasions - Brief Article

Men's Fitness,  August, 2002  by Mike Carlson,  Allan Donnelly,  Ben Kallen,  Bobby Lee,  Mark Thorpe,  Tom Weede

WHAT'S A BIGGER TURN-ON, A BACK RUB OR A FOOT MESSAGE?

Katie: A foot massage.

Sandy: I have to say a foot massage. Feet are such a personal thing, and can be an intimate area. A foot massage is energizing, to say the least. Feet lead to legs, etc.... I love back rubs, but they relax me immediately and I want to go to sleep. If he doesn't linger in the back area too long, well, that's another story. But if he stays with the back, I'll be snoring!

Samantha: A foot massage, definitely. It shows he's not afraid to touch your feet--which can be a very daring thing--and doesn't make him seem desperate or too eager to touch more of your body too soon.

WHAT'S THE LARGEST AGE DISCREPANCY YOU WOULD CONSIDER WHEN DATING SOMEONE?

Katie: Ten years. Upwards, I'm thinking. I'd definitely go up to 40, but no younger than 28. I wouldn't date a younger guy.

Sandy: I'm so not an age person. I think if there's a connection, then there's a connection. But typically that's not going to happen with a 50-year age difference. There have to be common interests, goals and desires.

Samantha: Two years younger to maybe eight years older. I want to grow old with someone.

WHAT DO YOU CONSIDER A FIRST-DATE FASHION FAUX PAS?

Katie: A jean sandwich: jeans and a jean jacket.

Sandy: Not "dressing" for the date. First, dress according to the plans you've made. Second, put the look together right, with no mismatch of styles. To do that, you have to have style.

Samantha: Ooh, open-toe sandals with socks, or jean shorts.

DOES THE KIND OF CAR A GUY DRIVES MATTER TO YOU?

Katie: No, unless it's a pickup truck. Even if it's a nice F-150. Then he's out of the running.

Sandy: I'm definitely not a materialistic person. So it's not as much about what kind of car he's driving as it is about how he takes care of it and what it means to him. But if he's picking me up in an old taxicab, I'm going to question that.

Samantha: I've dated guys who drive Porsches and guys who drive 15-year-old Hondas. It's the man who makes the date, not the car.

HOW SOON AFTER A GOOD FIRST DATE DO YOU EXPECT A CALL BACK?

Katie: The next day.

Sandy: Soon! I don't like games and don't want to play them. If he's interested, I want to know he's interested--a call the next day to say "Thanks for a great evening" or to say he had a good time, or something to let me know he's still thinking of me and the date.

Samantha: I'd be delighted to get a call the next day, but the guy should call at least within three days.
