Sun-protective clothing: this summer, fashion and skin care don't have to be at odds - Appearance - Brief Article - Buyers Guide
Men's Fitness, August, 2002 by Mark Thorpe
Sunlight and her harmful UV rays are harder to elude than a flu outbreak. And wearing a T-shirt won't get the job done, as undershirts offer an SPF of only 5 to 9, and when damp, less than that--well below the SPF 15 recommended by doctors. If you're sensitive to the sun, or plan to spend a lot of time in its presence, consider investing in the clothes pictured below. In addition to shirts, there are pants, hats and swimwear, all with at least the minimum doctor-mandated protection, but most with much more.

2 L.L. Bean Summer Plaid shirt, SPF 30 ($35)
