Sure, salsa tastes great, but it can also combat bacteria. According to recent UC Berkeley research, eating salsa may help you avoid food poisoning. The protection comes from the herb cilantro --the green stuff in salsa--which has potent antibacterial properties that make it lethal to food-borne bugs. Don't like hot stuff? Eat a fig.
