+ Popping an aspirin for occasional shoulder pain is fine, but according to a study from the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, over-the-counter drugs such as aspirin, Motrin, Advil, and Aleve may cause shoulder injuries to heal more slowly, especially injuries to the rotator cuff. Instead, ask your doc about alternate pain relievers.
