The Heimlich proved unsuccessful, and Officer Golden's wife began to call 911 for assistance. Officer Golden then tried the maneuver one more time and was successful. Coincidentally, just the night before, Officer Golden had attended a 4-hour department training session covering life-saving techniques. The session was timely and important because Officer Golden was able to apply what he had learned to save his daughter's life.
