Family Values - Poem

Contemporary Review, July, 2000 by Tim Hopkins

My mother screws the 'Social',

My father traffics crack,

My sister offers massage,

My brother deals in smack.

My grandma works the 'plastic',

My grandad is a fence,

My cousin Beth's an escort,

My cousin Darren rents.

My uncle's in 'protection',

My auntie lifts up West,

While I nick cars to order

And ring them for the rest.

Our faith's the fig we couldn't give,

Our creed's the tinker's cuss:

There is no you or him or her,

There's us and us and us.
