Longman - The Stuart Age: England 1603-1714, 3rd ed - Brief Article - Book Review
Contemporary Review, March, 2004
From LONGMAN we have a new, third edition of Barry Coward's The Stuart Age: England 1603-1714 ([pounds sterling]19.99) which first appeared to high praise in 1980. In his new preface Mr Coward examines the new developments in seventeenth-century historical writing since the last edition (1994) and discusses how they have affected his views.
The new edition of this classic survey is worth buying if only for the new preface.
