A Guide to Parliament. - book reviews
Contemporary Review, Oct, 1997
The author was Minister of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs in the 1992-1997 Conservative administration. This is one of the best short guides to the procedures and structures of the House of Commons. It defines various arcane terms, explains the way in which the lower house of Parliament works and describes the work of various officials both in government and in the legislature.
This is a fully revised version of The BBC Viewer's Guide to Parliament, first published when television cameras were allowed into the Commons.
