In conclusion, this study suggests that health care providers must be aware of the multiplicity of influences, including culture, ethnicity, and gender, that shape adolescents' perceptions and behaviors. Primary prevention through increasing adolescent coping strategies is essential, especially in regard to alcohol abuse and violence.
