King Arthur's Round Table: an Archaeological Investigation

Folklore, April, 2004 by Brynley F. Roberts

King Arthur's Round Table is a marvellous detective story that, for once, justifies adjectives like "magisterial," "definitive." It is the fruit of a remarkable combination of specialities, drawing on one another and each contributing to the whole. It is held together by skilful editing and lucid presentation that allows the reader to follow the central argument through the wealth of historical, literary, and archaeological investigations.

Martin Biddle and his team of researchers and writers deserve warm congratulations.
