Biographical Note

Elka Agoston-Nikolova is a senior research member of the Slavic Department at the University of Groningen, Netherlands. Her main scientific interest include the representation of gender and cultural identity in oral and written literary texts, the changing perception of national identity in the post-totalitarian period in South Eastern Europe, the question of ethnic and cultural identity of minority ethnic communities in the Balkans, and women's images and women's voices in the oral tradition.
