It has certainly been award season since the last issue of Afterimage. To reiterate how busy the International Center for Photography has been: Their coveted Cornell Capa Award went to the organizers of "Here is New York: A Democracy of Photographs," which featured professional and amateur photographs from the seconds, minutes, hours and days following the World Trade Center collapse.
Michael Hoffman, the late Executive Director and Publisher of Aperture, was posthumously awarded the Getty Images Lifetime Achievement Award. Additional Infinity 2002 recipients are as follows: Lynsey Addario (Young Photographer), Kiosk: A History of Photojournaliam by Robert Lebeck and Bodo von Dewitz (Publication), Ariella Azoulay (Writing), Shirin Neshat (Art), Tyler Hicks (Photojournalism) and R. j. Muna (Applied Photography).
