Centre Pompidou and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation propose development of a new museum in Hong Kong. The two institutions will work together on a joint proposal for the construction of a museum in the West Kowloon, part of a 40-hectare waterfront site in development by the Government of Hong Kong as an arts and cultural district.

The Guggenheim Foundation and Centre Pompidou envision a museum devoted to modern and contemporary art, the moving image, and design. (The final decision will be made by the government of Hong Kong.)
