Internships available: Afterimage offers unpaid internships that give students, emerging scholars, critics, writers, and thinkers the opportunity to become intricately involved with the day-to-day operations of a small non-profit arts journal. Tasks include line-editing, copy-editing, proofreading, research, promotional activities, and writing book reviews for our "Received and Noted" section. Interns are asked to commit to at least 10 hours/week for three months and are welcome to stay longer. College (undergraduate or graduate) credit can be arranged through home institution. Internships available: The Center for Photography at Woodstock offers photography students and new graduates the opportunity to participate in the entire Woodstock Photography Workshop and Lecture Series as interns (a tuition remission of over $5,000). Interns learn strategies in teaching, creative image making, and gain access to the professional realm. They have the opportunity to personally meet and work with each visiting artist, share their portfolios with professionals, be exposed to a diversity of approaches to the medium, experience first-hand a wide range of teaching styles and philosophies, and learn techniques and skills for a wide range of topics in photography. Candidates are selected by in-person interviews only and must call the Center at (845) 679-9957 to set up an appointment. To be selected, interns must have transportation, and plan to live in, or relocate to, the Woodstock, New York area during their internship.

Internships available: CEPA Photography Arts Gallery in Buffalo, NY offers internships during the fall, spring, and summer semesters, providing special opportunities for students to gain experience and earn college credit by working in a professional gallery setting. Internships available: The Media Loft offers internships in preparing work for galleries, film and video festivals, cable screenings, and TV commercials. There is no stipend, but college credit is available and lunch is provided. Prior experience in at least some of the following areas is desirable: computers (especially Amiga), graphic design, basic black and white photography, basic video editing, and basic film and/or audio production. Familiarity with the Chelsea/Village/Soho area, creativity, ingenuity, initiative, good humor, friendliness, and an interest in how the art and commercial worlds mix are also important.
