Daryl Silberman joins Yamaha

American Music Teacher, August-Sept, 2004

Daryl Silberman, a nationally recognized performer and clinician, has been named a product specialist for orchestral strings by Yamaha Corporation of America, Band and Orchestral Division.

A classical and contemporary violinist and violist, Silberman studied viola at the University of Colorado at Boulder, the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and the University of Southern California. She has a private teaching studio and performs in the Los Angeles area with regional and film studio orchestras, as well as chamber groups and baroque ensembles. She co-founded an acoustic folk-rock band and has played or recorded with Guns N' Roses and Depeche Mode, among others.

For the last nine years, Silberman toured nationally conducting clinics and performing in schools. She authored a clinic entitled "Connections'. Inspiring String Students by Connecting Classical and Contemporary Music," which she has conducted in more than thirty states, addressing audiences of all ages.
