Barber appointed dean of DePauw School of Music - Items of Interest - percussionist Amy Lynn Barber - Brief Article

Internationally renowned percussionist Amy Lynn Barber has been appointed dean of the DePauw University School of Music.

Barber, who recently served as director of percussion at the Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan, earned a bachelor of music in percussion and music education from the University of Massachusetts, and a doctor of musical arts in percussion and music history from the Hartt School of Music in Hartford. She received two consecutive Fulbright lectureships in Prague in 1989, and began a twelve-year stay in Europe. During that time she stayed in Prague, Ljubljana, Slovenia and Vienna, founding two not-for-profit music organizations and lecturing and performing throughout Europe.
