2004 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition - Competition - Brief Article

The 31st Annual Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition will take place May 21-23, 2004, at the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana.

The competition has senior and junior divisions. The senior division is for ensembles whose members' average age does not exceed age 30 as of May 23, 2004. The junior division is for students age 18 or younger as of May 23, 2004. Ensembles of three to six players of string, wind or mixed instruments are included.

The Fischoff Competition is the nation's largest chamber music competition. Each year sixty-two ensembles are invited to compete, participate in master classes and perform outreach programs during the three-day event. A total of $22,000 is awarded annually. The Grand Prize Winner is presented with a Midwest tour as well as several concerts in the Emilia Romagna Festival in Italy.
