American Music Teacher, Dec, 2001 by George Seltzer

It's been said many times, "Music is a fine art and a lousy business." Perhaps we could modify the present supply-and-demand equation, perhaps we would have happier, more productive performers and larger, more receptive audiences.

George Seltzer received his Musical education at the Eastman School of Music and has spent his career teaching and making music in orchestras and chamber music ensembles. He is professor of music emeritus at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
