Pianists ages 6 to 25 are eligible to compete in the 2002 International Russian Music Piano Competition, to be held May 11-19, 2002, at Le Petit Trianon in San Jose, California. Top prizes are $100 at the Young Musicians level, ages 6 to 9; $300 at the Junior level, ages 10 to 13; $500 at the Intermediate level, ages 14 to 17; and $3,000 at the Advance level, ages 18 to 25. Other cash prizes and special awards are available; all prizewinners must perform in the Winners Concert on May 17, 2002, to receive their awards. There is a graduated entry fee ($30, $45, $60, $100) depending on the participant's level. Application and fee deadline is April 1, 2002.
