The PianoArts 2005 National Piano Concerto and Solo Competition will be held June 17-21 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
It is open to contestants ages 14 to 18, with prizes totaling more than $7,000 and including a scholarship to attend the 2006 International Keyboard Institute and Festival at Mannes College of Music in New York City.
Finalists will perform with PianoArts Music Director Andrews Sill and the Milwaukee Chamber Orchestra. In addition, contestants will have the opportunity to perform in a workshop with a professional chamber music ensemble and participate in classes led by world-class musicians on topics such as perfecting stage presence and speaking to audiences about music.
The postmark deadline for preliminary DVD or VHS video submission is March 7, 2005.
