"The Cliburn: Playing on the Edge," the new documentary featuring a behind-the-scenes look at the Eleventh Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, is now available in VHS and DVD-10 formats. With twice the data storage capacity of a conventional DVD, the DVD-10 version includes two complete concerti performances featuring gold medallists Stanislav Ioudenitch and Olga Kern in addition to the documentary.

This ninety-minute production premiered on more than 140 PBS television stations in the fall of 2001. This documentary tracks selected young pianists from around the world, beginning with their arrival in Fort Worth, Texas, last May through seventeen days of private preparation and public performances. Also included are performances by the Takacs Quartet and the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra conducted by James Conlon. The VHS tape sells for $19.98 and the DVD-10 is $29.98.
