Conductor Jung-Ho Pak has been appointed the first director of orchestral activities and music director of the World Youth Symphony Orchestra at Interlochen Arts Camp.
Pak is recognized internationally as an innovative and expressive conductor. Currently music director of the New Haven Symphony Orchestra since 1999, from 1997 to 2002 Pak led the new San Diego Symphony to national recognition as an artistic and financial success coupled with innovative community involvement.
In his new role Pak will guide five orchestras comprised of more than 400 musicians ages 8 to 18. Those musicians are among more than 2,000 young people who come to Interlochen from every state and around the world each summer.
