The College Music Society ARIA will be held at Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, June 13-16, 2002. ARIA is a four-day institute where academics, teachers and students can learn about the music industry and its operation from both philosophical and practical perspectives. ARIAs objective is to explore the forces, trends, practices and products of the music entertainment industry to incorporate this information into contemporary music education. ARIA is being held in conjunction with Berklee's Music Business: Recording Industry and E-commerce Workshop June 14-15.
ARIA faculty will include Peter Alhadeff, Berklee College of Music; Gerard Aloisio, Minnesota State University, Mankato; Judith Coe, University of Colorado at Denver; Don Gorder, Berklee College of Music; Beto Hale, MusicoPro Magazine;, E. Michael Harrington, Belmont University; Michael Laskow, TAXI Independent A&R; and Ted Piechocinski, MusicExpresso, L.L.C.
ARIA is a professional development initiative of The College Music Society (CMS)--a consortium of college, conservatory, university and independent musicians and scholars interested in all disciplines of music.
