Her teaching career was associated with the University of Southern California, where she established a piano pedagogy program and served as director of undergraduate studies. She also is highly respected for her editorship of the journal Piano and Keyboard and her contributions to MTNA, having served as editor for articles and reviews for American Music Teacher. She is co-author of the book Sound Choices: Guiding Your Children's Musical Experiences and recently has published two booklets for piano teachers: Play It Again, Sam: What, Why, and When to Repeat and That's a Good Question: How to Teach by Asking Questions.
