Jennifer Zhou, age 11, of Columbus, Ohio, is in the sixth grade and studies flute with Beth Owen, NCTM. Born in China, Jennifer is a member of the Columbus Symphony Cadet orchestra and is principal flutist at Jones Middle School. Winner of the elementary level Ohio Buckeye Competition, she also earned top honors three times in the CSO Young Musicians Competition. Last year, Jennifer was a recipient of an OMTA Summer Scholarship.

Jaclyn Rainey, age 17, is a junior at The Youth Performing Arts High School in Louisville, Kentucky. She is the principal hornist in her school's Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble and Philharmonia orchestra. Jaclyn, a student of D. Bruce Helm, also serves as the principal hornist for the Louisville Youth orchestra, where she has been a member for four years. She has received many awards and has been a featured soloist on Louisville's WUOL Lunchtime Classics radio series.

MTNA Senior Percussion Competition Sponsored by Yamaha Corporation of America--Band and orchestral Division
Jonathan Park, of Ames, Iowa, has studied percussion with Barry Larkin for four years. Jonathan studied piano before he started to play percussion. In summers, he has attended numerous camps and seminars including NHSMI and Michael Burritti's marimba seminar. Jonathan was a winner of the Central Iowa Symphony Young Artist Competition and a second-place winner of the Des Moines Young Artist Competition in 2003.

Third Place: Brian Radock, Southern Division (Florida); Beth Gottlieb, teacher
MTNA Senior Piano Competition Sponsored by Yamaha Corporation of America--Piano Division
Brandon Lee, of North Logan, Utah, is in the eleventh grade. He studies piano with Gary Amano. Brandon won seventeen first-place awards, including the 1999 and 2000 UMTA Concerto Competitions; the 1999, 2001 and 2003 USU Competitions; the 1999 and 2000 Utah Symphony Guild Competitions; the 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002 and 2003 Utah Competitions, the 2003 Four Corners, Solo and Concerto; and the 2003 Idaho International. He was a national finalist in the 2000 MTNA competitions and placed third in the 2003 MTNA national competition finals.
